Alien Apocalypse Haiku!

Hey!

I haven’t linked to this site for a while, and if you aren’t reading it, you seriously should be. Like seriously. It’s the quirkiest, funniest apocalypse blog you’ve probably never heard of: After Ever After. (I recommend starting from the first posts and reading forward.)

And did you know it’s now a paying market? From Duotrope:

“After Ever After is constantly evolving. Recently we’ve evolved into an official unofficial semi-occasional magazine. What does that mean? Well, if you have a previously published story or poem which you feel would be a perfect addition to our blog, you may submit your work.

FICTION: Fiction submissions need not be directly related to whatever apocalyptic theme is currently being explored in the blog (e.g. aliens, robots, zombies, elephants, etc) but should be in some way be related to some strange, dramatic world altering event. Humor and/or soul crushing darkness preferred.

POETRY: Poetry, on the other hand, is completely open. Poems should be of high literary quality and strong speculative content. You may submit original poetry or reprints. Favorite poets: David Kirby, Robert Hass, Claudia Emerson, Judy Jordan, Rodney Jones.”

Semi-pro rates, quick response times, reprints accepted….how could you pass it up?

The current offering: Seven Standpoints From Which To Defend Your Sandwich From A Hungry Alien.

This makes me giggle.

Go thou and enjoy muchly!

I can entirely picture an old cynic in a rocking chair, muttering under her breath. Thank you for sharing! =)
